Making a Personal Growth Plan

Are you someone that is always making a personal growth plan? If you have things that you want to change inside of yourself, you can make this happen. There are things that you will want to do that will encourage you to have personal growth.

There are so many self-help books and resources that you can use that are fun but if you don’t follow them, you will not grow.

There might be changes that you want to make in your life, but you get overwhelmed because you never know where you should start. Making changes can get you excited, and you can make goals that can help you to make those changes happen.

You need to do a personal growth plan to help you. These plans can give you courage and help to make things happen in your life.

What is Personal Growth?

Personal growth is more than just reading books or posts, it is more than meditating and cleaning out your closet.

Personal growth means that you make roots and that you change the thoughts, behaviors, and habits that you have. You learn to commit to yourself and you learn to grow as a person. Instead of trying to get advice, you make the changes that you need, and you change your mindset.

You will have a healthy mindset that will help you to change as a person. There will be things that you might not be able to change but there are many things that you can change.

Writing a Plan

In order to make changes and take action, you have to figure out what you need to change. Your growth plan will help you to figure out what you need to change and what you can do to make it happen.

Being Aware

The first step is to be aware of what you want to change in your life.

What are you struggling with? Write down a few things that you are happy with and some of the things that you want to change:

  • Physical Body
    • Do you work out enough each day?
    • Do you eat healthy foods?
    • Do you sleep well and get enough sleep?
  • Mental Health
    • Are you loving to yourself?
    • Do you ask for help when you need it?
    • Do you know how to calm down when life is hard?
  • Spiritual Health
    • Do you do things to connect with your inner self?
    • Do you take time to learn new skills?
    • Do you have goals to make yourself better?
  • Relationship Health
    • Do you have good friends and family that you can go to?
    • Do you spend time with people you love?
    • Do you have relationships that are healthy?
  • Recreation Health
    • Do you make time to do hobbies that you love?
    • Do you have enough time each day to relax?
    • Do you allow yourself to have fun without feeling bad about it?
  • Financial Health
    • Do you make good choices with your money?
    • Do you pay attention to where you are spending your money?
    • Do you have goals that will help you in the future?
  • Career Health
    • Do you have a purpose at your job?
    • Do you feel happy at work?
    • Do you feel that you get paid enough for the work you do?
  • Home Health
    • Do you feel comfortable at home?
    • Are you secure where you live?
    • Do you enjoy living where you live and who you live with?

Focusing

Once you know what you need to focus on, take your plan and write down the things you need to work on. Find areas in your life that are great and exciting and then find the ones that you need to work on.

  • What areas need the most work?
  • Why do you want to work on these areas?

Evaluate Yourself

Now that you know what you need help with, evaluate the things that you have written down. Answer these questions:

  • What does life look like right now?
  • What is missing in your life?
  • What would make you feel better in your life?

Brainstorming

Look at the things that you wrote down and see how you can make things in your life better. Answer these things:

  • What can I change to live a better life?
  • How can I take action to improve things in life?
  • What habits can I change to have a good life?

Make a Plan

Take a time frame and set it for yourself to make progress. Make sure that you are becoming more satisfied with the things that you are changing.

  • What areas to focus on.
  • What timeframe you will use.
  • Steps of action you can take.
  • Daily habit changes.

Follow the Plan

Once you make a plan, make sure you are going to be able to follow it and to embrace it. Here are some ways to do that:

  • Keep track with your calendar.
  • Add reminders to your phone each day.
  • Print out your growth plan.
  • Find someone that will keep you accountable.
  • Put dates on the calendar to look at your progress.
